For Americans visas are no longer needed, instead, once you arrive in Hungary, we will take you to the local government office and help you apply for a residence permit. Please bring $125-$150 and one passport picture. Your residence permit will be good for five years (provided your passport is valid that long).

For students from other countries, getting your visa can take up to three months and the longer you wait to start the process the more expensive it becomes.


You can not apply for a Hungarian visa from within Hungary.
